This is a mixed media work featuring spray paint, fluid acrylic, epoxy resin, plexiglass, brass hardware, silk, cotton canvas, and metallic leather on a cradled wood panel. 

Using plexiglass pieces in an array of colors as a parallel for viewports or lenses, this piece is a part of the Smoke and Lenses series which reflects on how each of our individual viewpoints, privileges, family histories, and more impact the metaphorical color with which we see the world. 

When seeing the work, I hope viewers ponder how each piece of plexiglass is a limited lens and doesn’t encompass the whole painting, and also how it impacts the view or color of what’s beneath it - and in parallel reflect on what has impacted their own perspectives.
