My painting process is like an excavation in reverse; I keep adding layers of paint until I end up with something on top that works.  While the paintings coalesce into forms on the edge of recognition, they are as much about the process as they are about the images that remain.  To learn more about my work, you can follow me on Instagram @ellenburgin.
